ABOUT

2026:
NEW LOCATION

An independent twin-fin surf event and cultural moment, that brings people together and contributes to the local community.

The Twin Fin Invitational was created by professional free surfer William Aliotti to celebrate the timeless style and creativity of twin-fin surfing. It flips the traditional contest script: no panels, no pressure, just the world’s best free surfers sharing waves on classic twin fins.

Mixed heats, men and women together. Twin fins only, 19,5″ wide tail fish. The format puts the craft back at the centre of free surfing. Surfers and filmers pick the standouts on style, flow and creativity. No scores, just authenticity.

Vol. I 2024 opened in Seignosse with 34 invited free surfers; Victor Bernardo and Ainara Aymat walked away champions. A year later, Vol. II 2025 landed in Vieux Boucau for seven days of surf and culture, crowned by Maud Le Car and Kaito Ohashi.

The Twin Fin Invitational is bigger than what happens in the water. Every edition becomes a full week of film premieres, live music, art shows, shaping sessions and community dinners, surf culture at its most real. Giving back is also part of it, past editions brought people together for a beach cleanup and opened doors into the lifeguard profession.

For Vol. III, the event moves to Zarautz, one of the Basque Country’s most iconic surf towns.

ABOUT THE CREATOR - WILLIAM ALIOTTI

Emblem for exploring and creative surfing
Widely regarded as one of the most innovative surfers of his generation, William Aliotti has carved out a career defined by experimentation and boundary-pushing. Renowned for exploring the outer edges of board design and performance, he’s made his mark by taking unconventional equipment into some of the world’s most demanding waves – from towering slabs to heavy beach breaks. His surfing is equal parts progressive and poetic: a blend of speed, flow, and technique, always driven by a vision for what’s next.

Aliotti has emerged as a force in the modern twin fin revival. What began as a personal journey has sparked a broader cultural shift, crystallised in his Twin Fin Invitationals – an event that returns surfing to its roots in creativity, style, and expression, while drawing top talent and global attention.
Aliotti’s influence extends beyond the ocean through collaborations with leading brands across entertainment, hospitality, and aviation industries. His film projects, including award-winning features, have premiered at international festivals and been widely celebrated within the media world. With millions of views across platforms like Stab, Surfer Magazine, NobodySurf, YouTube, and Instagram, he has reshaped how a generation of surfers think about boards, waves, and style.
